BHBC Food Bank
BHBC also serves our neighbors through our food bank ministry. The vision of this ministry is rooted in Matthew 25:40, in which our Lord Jesus gave the following instruction. He was teaching about the importance and necessity of helping those with needs:
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
A great percentage of the children in our community actually actually depends on the food programs at the local schools. The food bank allows BHBC the opportunity to come alongside families to help them acquire enough groceries to feed their families for the month. We strive to help supplement the meager food budget of families in South Columbus, particularly those in the Benning Hills area.
The food pantry is led by sister Bertha Brown and staffed with an army of friendly and Godly volunteers. We provide groceries to families in need. Families do not have to be members of BHBC to receive food.
Hours of Operations
Tuesdays 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
The food pantry is financed through the generous gifts of the members of BHBC. We are praying and working to expand the reach of the food pantry ministry to serve a greater population of the South Columbus area. We do have the space to expand, but we need more grocery items in order to serve more families. If you would like to partner with us to help us grow this ministry, please feel free to contact us.
